Autism support and management in Hyderabad — feeding and nutrition care at Ravide Wellness Center

Autism Treatment in Hyderabad

Autism support and management in Hyderabad works best when therapy and nutrition run together, not one instead of the other. At Ravide Wellness, Dr. Ravi Vide builds patient, sensory-aware feeding plans that protect growth and widen a narrow diet — alongside your child’s paediatrician and therapy team.

Overview of Autism

  • We begin by mapping the actual accepted food list — textures, colours, brands, temperatures and how they are served
  • Sensory-aware plans that expand variety slowly, without pressure, force or bargaining at the table
  • Screening for the nutrient gaps most common in restrictive eating, in coordination with your paediatrician
  • Practical help with constipation, reflux and other digestive discomfort that suppresses appetite
  • Coaching for parents and caregivers on mealtime structure, seating and predictable routines
  • Growth, weight and height tracked over time so the plan is adjusted on evidence, not guesswork

Eating & Nutrition Challenges We Support in Autism

Food refusal is rarely stubbornness. It is usually sensory, digestive or routine-driven — and each of those needs a different plan.

Food Selectivity & Limited Diet Variety

When the accepted list shrinks to a few beige foods, whole food groups drop out. We widen the range in small, tolerable steps rather than removing the safe foods a child depends on.

Sensory Sensitivities at Mealtimes

Texture, smell, temperature and even the sound of chewing can make a food genuinely intolerable. Plans work with those sensitivities — adjusting how food is prepared and presented instead of insisting the child adapt.

Constipation & Digestive Discomfort

Gastrointestinal symptoms are common in autism and often go unspoken. Easing constipation and reflux frequently improves appetite, sleep and mood before any new food is introduced.

Nutrient Gaps & Faltering Growth

Iron, calcium, vitamin D, zinc and vitamin C are the usual shortfalls in a narrow diet. We identify which apply to your child, correct them properly, and monitor growth alongside your paediatrician.

Our 5-Step Approach to Autism Support and Management

The goal is a wider, safer diet and steady growth — not a “cure”, and not a fight at every meal.

  1. STEP 01

    Feeding & Sensory Assessment

A full picture of accepted foods, refusals, textures, mealtime behaviour, routines and family context — before anything is changed.

  2. STEP 02

    Nutrient Screening, Not Guesswork

Where a restrictive diet suggests a shortfall, we recommend appropriate testing through your paediatrician rather than supplementing blindly.

  3. STEP 03

    Sensory-Aware Food Introduction

New foods are introduced in graded steps — on the table, then touched, then tasted — chosen to resemble foods already accepted.

  4. STEP 04

    Mealtime Routine & Caregiver Coaching

Predictable timing, seating and presentation, plus practical scripts for parents so mealtimes stop being a daily negotiation.

  5. STEP 05

    Growth Tracking & Plan Review

Height, weight and diet variety reviewed at regular intervals, with the plan adjusted to what is genuinely working.

An important note on autism care: nutrition support does not treat, reduce or reverse autism, and we make no such claim. Autistic children and adults are best supported by a full team — paediatrician, developmental specialist, and speech, occupational and behavioural therapists. Our role is nutrition and growth, and it is designed to work alongside that team, never in place of it. We do not use chelation, unproven biomedical protocols or high-dose supplement regimens, and we do not recommend restrictive elimination diets without a clear clinical reason and proper supervision — in an already narrow diet, removing more foods can do real harm. If you have concerns about your child’s development, please speak with a qualified paediatrician or developmental specialist.

Frequently Asked Questions

Honest answers to the questions parents ask us most about autism and nutrition.

Can a special diet cure or reverse autism?

No. Autism is a neurodevelopmental difference, not a nutritional deficiency, and no diet, supplement or protocol can cure it. Anyone promising otherwise is not being straight with you. What good nutrition care can do is meaningful in its own right: correct nutrient gaps, ease constipation, protect growth, widen a narrow diet and make mealtimes calmer for the whole family.

My child eats only five or six foods. Should I be worried?

It is worth assessing, not panicking about. Many autistic children eat a very limited range and still grow normally. The concern is when whole food groups drop out for long stretches — that is when iron, calcium, vitamin D, zinc or vitamin C can fall short. We look at what is actually being eaten, check for the gaps that matter, and work to widen the list gradually without removing the foods your child relies on.

Do you recommend a gluten-free, casein-free diet?

Not routinely. The evidence that GFCF diets improve core autism traits is weak and inconsistent, while the risk is concrete: in a child who already eats very little, removing wheat and dairy can cut out major sources of energy, calcium and protein. If there is a genuine, diagnosed intolerance or allergy, we manage it properly with replacements planned in. Otherwise we would rather add foods than take them away.

How do you introduce new foods without a battle at the table?

Slowly, and without pressure. A new food might simply sit on the table for several meals, then be touched, then licked, then tasted — with no expectation of eating it. We choose foods that resemble something already accepted in texture or colour, keep safe foods available at every meal, and coach parents through it so the approach stays consistent at home and at school.

Which nutrients are most often low in autistic children?

It depends entirely on the individual diet, which is why we assess before advising. In restrictive eating patterns the shortfalls we see most often involve iron, calcium, vitamin D, zinc and vitamin C, and constipation is common alongside them. Where a gap is suspected, we ask your paediatrician for appropriate testing rather than starting supplements on assumption.

Do you provide autism treatment, ABA or speech therapy in Hyderabad?

No. We are a nutrition clinic, not an autism therapy centre — we do not provide ABA, speech therapy or occupational therapy, and we would not want to be chosen instead of them. For autism treatment in Hyderabad in that sense, you want a developmental paediatrician and a dedicated therapy centre, and they should stay central to your child’s care. Our role sits alongside theirs, covering feeding difficulties, digestive symptoms and growth, and we are glad to share the autism support and management plan we build with your child’s existing care team in Hyderabad.
